If we approach a poet without prejudice  we shall find that not only the best
But the most individual parts of his work may b those in which dead poet  his ancestors assert their immorality most vigorously Second step
Tradition doesn't not mean a blind adherence to the ways of past.
This would b mere slavish imitation,a mere repitition
In tradition  ,the sense of is to be discouraged   3rd step
Tradition can't be inherited.
It can be obtained by hard labour
This labour is the labour of knowing the past writer

He thinks that past exists in the present
Historical sense is the sense of timeless and the temporal together
Historical sense makes a writer traditional
A writer who have the sense of tradition is fully conscious of his own generation ,his place in the present,at the same time his relationship with the writer of the past.
